CITY & COUNTRY LIFE! (2)

There are both advantages and disadvantages to living in the city and the country!

People have always argued about whether it is better to live in the city or the country, and of course there are advantages and disadvantages to both situations.

Living in the city can be exciting. There's far more to do, and life can be much more convenient when it comes to doing the shopping or finding a dentist. Hoever, c;ity living can also be stressful and dangerous as well as unhealthy, with the amount of pollution found in so many big cites and the constant traffic.

Country life at its best gives you a relaxed, peaceful and usually far less expensive way of life. You are nearer nature, and can take up all sorts of healthy activities, such as walking and gardening. However, one disadvantage is that country living can be boring. There is often little to do, and your social life may suffer badly.

When all is said and done, I prefer the idea of city life.
Maybe I'll change my mind when I'm much older!

A university degree does not necessary guaraantee a successful career!

There are two sides to question. There are those who claim that a degree is essential in order to got on in this world,while others point to the high number of unemployed graduates.

First of all, it is logical that someone with good qualifications is more likely to get a job than someone without. In contrast to the other person, he should have a degree knowledgr of his subject. In addition, he will have done more more years of study and therefore be more mature.

On the other hand, many employees look upon experience as much more important than paper qualifications.  Apart from that, someone with good qualifications will expect a higher salary than someone without.

On the whole,  however, it seems to me that to be well qualified is better than to have no qualifications when someone is looking for a successful career.

Dear Peter,
I haven' t heard from you for a long time, so i hope you are well.
Anyway, I'm writing to invite you to stay with us for a weekend on my uncle's farm.

Two of my cousins will be there and they are great fun. There are lots of things to do. We can help my uncle feed the animals and the go for a ride on the ponies. There's also a small pond near the farm where we can go fishing if you want.

I always love it when I go to my uncle's farm and it will be even more fun if you are there.
Please say you' ll come. I know we' ll have the time of our lives!

Money can’t buy happiness

Cenerally speaking, I agree with thiw statement, and it is often claimed that people with a lot of money are not much happier than anyone else.

Nevertheless, it is important to have enough money to have  financial security, which is different. It doesn' t really matter if you earn a high or a low salary as long as you achieve something in life and have a happy family life and good friends.  Not only that, it is also important to find a way of getting away from your daily routine. This could be hobby like walking or swimming which doesn' t cost anything.

All in all, you can achieve a good level of happiness without being rich, but you need enough money to be able to live comfortably.
